Paul Trent was one of the early network pioneers in the Southern San Joaquin Valley that shaped the infrastructures of some of the area’s leading professional organizations. He is an excellent technical leader with more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, and has demonstrated the ability to focus teams to accomplish complex critical projects on time.

During his tenure with both private and public companies he has assembled highly competent IT teams in the areas of LAN/WAN (Local Area Network / Wide Area Network) implementation and administration, financial systems, line of business systems selection and implementation, and distributed process control systems.

Windows Network Admin

Position Summary: Trent Systems, LLC is looking for an experienced Windows Server Network Engineer to work with their current clients and to design and implement systems for new SMB clients located in Kern County.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required of Employee:
  • Must have a very detailed level understanding of the Windows Server A/D environment.
  • Proven ability to administer and implement GPO's and ACLs. •Ability to write and maintain scripts for administration.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of, and ability to implement, TCP/IP routing and addressing, sub netting, VPNs, etc.
  • Needs to be comfortable with layer 2 and layer 3 switching.
  • Experience administering SMB firewalls (Sonicwall, Watch Guard, Fortinet, Cisco SA, etc)
VMware ESXi expertise a definite plus. VOIP systems administration experiences a plus. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining Windows Server based networks for varied types of small – medium businesses located in Kern County.

Help Desk (Support I)

Employment Status: Full Time/ At-Will/ Non-Exempt
Supervisor: (President) / (Supervisor)
Position Summary: Responsible for answering, commenting and replying to help desk inquiries. Help desk is the first level of support, and response for clients. Help desk is relief and assistance for techs and engineers. Help desk/ Support I support is responsible for first response in answering, commenting and replying to open incidents in the help desk. Ability to identify and organize tickets according to priority and forward tickets to engineers and techs. Strong aptitude in O.S. Repairs, Spyware removal, virus removal, hardware, troubleshoot, upgrades. Update and maintain company contacts. Assist support staff with field work as needed. Sets up and operates computer and machinery peripheral to computer for purpose of providing information to requesting clients. Work requires knowledge of computer logic and methodology to run computer systems.
